Abulafia (2019)

A 42 sqm apartment renovation in Tel-Aviv.

The building, dated from 1938, is an International Style apartment block. The renovation is an attempt to mix the original features with modern and clean design.

​

Due to the poor state of the apartment, the kitchen and bathroom were rebuilt and the original hallway was demolished for direct entry into the living room.

As part of the renovation, original elements were retained in the apartment - most of the original painted concrete floors were preserved, uncovered old paint layers were framed, the original wooden windows were renovated and restored. The apartment was designed with a series of bespoke birch furniture.
