Proposal for a sculpture

Arad, Israel

Selected proposal for an exhibition of public art, the Association of Plastic Artists, Israel

"One day, I was already old, in the entrance of a public place a man came up to me. He introduced himself and said: ‘I’ve known you for years. Everyone says you were beautiful when you were young, but I want to tell you I think you’re more beautiful now than then. Rather than your face as a young woman, I prefer your face as it is now. Ravaged.’"

from: The Lover / Marguerite Duras

The proposed sculpture is a process. Gradient of colors, heights, materials and time. It was a product of a year full of emotional upheavals in which I softened, broke, grew and changed. Between the fractures and the difficulties
beautiful and meaningful moments emerged, as well as dark and cracked moments.

The proposed sculpture is 12 meters long and varies in length from 20 cm to 2 meters. Its height starts at 60
cm and up to 3 meters. It is made of two plants and a series of concrete castings in various compounds - the lower part in which the the amount of concrete exceeds the sand, and up to the highest part where the sand prevails over the concrete, a gradient of grey concrete and yellowish local sand.

In fact only a certain part of the sculpture is fixed, the part where the concrete ratio is high, and its sandy edge will change and soften, unravel by wind and water to an unknown point, and will merge back with the desert.
